- Troy High and Athens High school are undergoing athletic improvements. Troy high is wrapping up these projects and Athens is beginning it’s comparable projects this summer.

- The attendance review committee has been meeting throughout the year. They are looking to balance in middle school enrollment numbers by re-configuring district attendance lines. They are also looking to resolving double splits.
- At this point the committee is in the phase of making a determination.
- When reviewing curriculum the staff considered the Common Core Standards, the Literacy Essentials in Michigan and the Troy School District pillars.
- The review process began in January and included 100 elementary teachers from different specialties. They reviewed 8 curriculum options, narrowed these down to 5 and scored the remaining 5. 90% of the team chose the “Revised Units of Study” curriculum as being the best fit for Troy Elementaries and this is now being piloted.
- In the revised version of the “Units of Study” writing curriculum, spelling and grammar have been added into 3rd ,4th and 5th grade study.
- In the “Revised Units of Study” curriculum, the writing genres are the same with changes to the layout. Some of the units are common to all grade levels, and some units are grade-level specific.
- The reviewing team feels that the “Revised Units of Study” fit in well with common core standards as well as literacy essentials.
- A parent review night is being offered by teachers in the district on April 16th from 6:30-8:00 in the Services Building for any parent interested in attending.
